I could feel the deafening silence between the fighting couple. It was unbearably loud. I loved how I was at that breakfast table with them.

This seems particularly valid with the issues that have come to light in the last few days. A lovely work.

The personification of death as a cat is so wonderful. The cat-like behaviors picture perfect in my mind.

Thank you so ver much. I wanted to highlight how the dread of family gatherings (in my case the smoker must) is easily forgotten when everyone lets loose and starts to enjoy the time together.

This is such a heartbreaking but beautiful tribute. The depth of your heart and soul laid bare for all is such a powerful connector. Thank you for sharing this painful time in your life journey.

Absolutely beautiful. I am a real sucker for good alliteration and this takes the cake- "far fled from all favor"

You hit the nail on the head there. November first hits and Christmas music starts then, BOOM, it's Christmas eve and I haven't wrapped a single gift yet.

The connotations in this work paint a very vivid picture, but also leave to interpretation based upon experience, Such a well-written piece.

You are too sweet. Thank you for your kind comments. I'm still learning a lot about being an effective writer, but writing about what weighs my heart and mind seems to be a good way to resonate with readers. I hope to learn from those more seasoned than I to excel even further. Feedback definitely helps with that!

The poem perfectly sums up the reasons many question the mere existence of a God. The questions arise about existence, however, because none of us are God and could never understand the full scope of what that role would be. It's easier to question that existence than to consider all angles of all things, especially things we don't like (like good people dying too young).

This poem is so fun because there are so many ways to think about it. All of the possibilities could have their own 20/20 special, MUHUhahah!

I so appreciate your comment. I really wanted the visual of a poem being written looking much like a painter putting his work on canvas.

This piece is beautiful and so haunting. It does such a good job in conveying the fictional story that it feels auto biographical. Well done.

This poem stood out to me due to its connotations. It is very enjoyable to stand in the rain but it's also a symbol of not fearing standing out, and being different..

This spoke to me. None of us have a rule book on how to live life, so we rely on what others teach us about how we're supposed to live looks like. None of us know if we're really doing life right.
