The harvest Moon.

A J C 1958 (Swansea, MA)

The harvest moon.

I look out my window and can see a bright orange harvest moon. It indicates that I'll be seeing you soon. Your beauty is like the golden wheat in a cool summer breeze. I smell your scent on my sleeve. You are the wheat, and I am the reaper. I'm the keeper of beautiful young things, so let me go a little deeper so you can see. However, you are not ready to be taken. You are still a maiden. You are like a flower garden, but the showers prevent me from entering. You have the power to make it rain or cause me pain. But I know in my heart that it's all in vain. I have nothing left to gain. So here I remain.

The emotions and longing expressed in the words are truly touching. The way the poet weaves together the themes of nature and love is truly masterful. Wow, what a beautiful and captivating poem! The imagery of the harvest moon and comparing it to the beauty of a loved one is so touching. The metaphors of wheat, reaper, and flower garden all add depth to the poem and create a sense of longing and desire. The use of sensory details like scent and sight really bring the words to life.

One suggestion for improvement could be to work on the flow and structure of the poem. Maybe try playing around with the line breaks and stanza formation to enhance the rhythm and pacing of the piece. Also, consider adding more variation in the length of your lines to create more dynamic and engaging reading experience.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading "The Harvest Moon" and appreciate the emotion and imagery you've crafted in this poem. Keep up the great work!
