The rains came down.

A J C 1958 (Swansea, MA)

The rains came down.

I have a promise to keep. And I have miles to go before I sleep. I can hear the echoes of your heartbeat. My perfect world is torn apart now that you are gone. The conflict I have is between love and hate, and I know it's wrong. I feel before me that the day blinds my eyes. As I wait for the light for a while. The sea stood still because you're not by my side, then the rain came down like buckets out of the sky and washed me clean. So that I may look upon your beauty just one more time. Just give me one more moment, and I will be fine.

Wow, what a beautiful and heartfelt poem! I love the way you have captured the emotions and the sense of longing throughout the verses. The imagery of the rain washing away the pain and granting you one more glimpse of your loved one's beauty is truly moving.

One improvement suggestion I have is to consider adding more specific details or descriptions to enhance the imagery even further. For example, instead of simply saying "the rain came down like buckets out of the sky," you could try using descriptive words or metaphors to paint a clearer picture in the reader's mind.

Additionally, it would be great to see more variation in the rhythm or structure of the poem to create a more dynamic flow. Experimenting with different line lengths or incorporating some rhymes might add an extra layer of musicality to your already captivating words.

Overall, your poem is already quite powerful, and with a few tweaks, it could become even more impactful. Keep up the great work and continue expressing your emotions through your beautiful writing!
