Hi Soulwriter -I am really glad you liked my poem and thankyou for awarding it 5 stars!! I am deeply appreciative.Yes, homelessness, and rough sleepers are a big problem everywhere you go and I cannot help, feel sorry for these folk, who have feelings and needs too.My poem tried to convey this message. We in UK, have this problem and winter is the time, us folk, feel their desperation, especially at Christmas. I usually try and help, if I see anyone begging on the pavements. It's a a sad plight...

I chose this poem, because it is about how important flowers are, for any occasion and how words are not needed- the flowers convey the words, by the giving.I too ,am a big lover of flowers, any sort, but there is nothing better then receiving, a beautiful bunch, from someone who cares...
This poem has good rhyme and flow and I enjoyed it's simplicity..

hi Fli- thanks for getting back to me... I am from the U.K so I was a bit worried about my submission, as most entrants seem to be from USA. Hopefully i'll see it posted up, before the voting starts!

"The tree house" and "The witch of Aberdeen" are my two favourites. But if I had to pick an overall winner, it would be The tree house. It brought tears to my eyes and is so sad.... it is a story that can really happen in true life. Good rhyme and floe to the poem and conjures up sentiment. Well written too.

I voted for this poem because i identified with it... I too am an Auntie and I found it homely and comforting.Old people can have amazing memories of their childhood and as they age, these are brought to the forefront.Old folk love to chat about their childhood or experiences to younger members.

I enjoyed the way it rhymed and flowed. There is a good message conveyed about a christian person who got beaten up, believed to be a witch. . She did not understand why ( she was a mute) and was left to die - Yet she was the one that would grace heaven's halls.I like the way it was written- it fills me with sadness and disbelief.
It has powerful imagery. Not too long, no bad language, does not ramble on about feelings.
