Poem of the Year

As 2022 is behind us, we reflect on the 12 monthly winners that have moved us with their powerful imagery and emotional resonance. Each poem is a winner in its own right, and we celebrate the beauty that these poets have brought into our lives — And now, without further ado, it is our great pleasure to announce the Poem of the Year.

All of the entries deserve recognition. I love the message of this one! Great rhythm and rhyme from one of the best story tellers of the group.

"The tree house" and "The witch of Aberdeen" are my two favourites. But if I had to pick an overall winner, it would be The tree house. It brought tears to my eyes and is so sad.... it is a story that can really happen in true life. Good rhyme and floe to the poem and conjures up sentiment. Well written too.

This is such an inspiring activity. It encourages people like me to keep on writing and to exert more effort in terms of improving my current writing style with hopes of making it to that amazing list on the following years.

And since I love reading all of the awesome works of the past winners during my leisure time, I'm excited to see who would shine the brightest among those lights.

    P.S.
All of your works are indeed great, it's just a matter of preference. :)

I voted for 'No Longer Yours To Keep' because it had the best feel for rhyme and the subject is poignant.
