All I Do Is Fall With The Leaves

Music: distilled, refined,
crashes against this moment.
Wonder shakes its head
as I weep yesterdays across

the expanse of tomorrows,
no cares for thoughts

of grief, despair,
the hands of education.

Here I sit, dissolving in fingers
of yes I am here, no I fade away.

I wish I knew what to say, what to do
in these times of intense remorse,

but all I do is fall with the leaves,
cutting sorrow into tiny fragments

of manageable concern,
a snip here of morality,

another of greed, alone,
lost in self-pity’s welcoming arms.
