Her Love For a Tree

She sat upon the bench that once was an old Maple tree
After school she couldn't wait to get home just so she could be
Upon that tire swing, that hung from its branch she loved with all her heart
Of all the memories she cherished that tree played so much a part
She just couldn't let it completely die when nature took its life
This tree had healing powers especially in times of strife
The family chopped and chopped it up except for the the lower end
She couldn't let them take it all, she knew she had to save this friend
She managed to get a hold of someone who empathized with her reasoning
And carved that memory into a bench she now sits upon each evening
She finally took a hold of what she knows is true in her defense
And left the giggles of gossip's chatter in the gutter of ignorance

About this poem

I get bullied and laughed at just for the way I love .Which I still do and cannot stop my love for trees and the respect I have since birth for the connection I maintain for nature.

If you get bullied and laughed at for having a huge heart, then keep striving to be bullied and laughed at because you are what the world needs more of, dear. Wha a lovely sentiment this was. So touching.

    Positive and Enthusiastic Feedback:

I absolutely loved reading your poem, "Her Love For a Tree"! The imagery you created of the old Maple tree and the tire swing hanging from its branch was so vivid and captivating. I could feel the protagonist's deep affection and connection towards that tree, which made the poem truly enchanting.

The way you depicted the tree's importance in the protagonist's life was touching and heartfelt. It's wonderful how you showcased the healing powers of the tree, especially during difficult times. It added depth and meaning to the poem, making it even more impactful.

Moreover, the resolution of the poem was so uplifting. The fact that the protagonist managed to save a piece of the tree and turn it into a bench is truly inspiring. It symbolizes the protagonist's determination and unwavering love for her friend. The line about leaving the "giggles of gossip's chatter in the gutter of ignorance" was such a powerful way to assert her own truth and disregard negativity.

    Improvement Suggestions:

While your poem is already beautiful, I have a few suggestions that could enhance it further. Firstly, consider incorporating more sensory details to bring the reader even closer to the emotions and atmosphere of the poem. For example, describing the scent of the old Maple tree or the feeling of the wind as the protagonist swung on the tire swing could make the scene even more immersive.

Additionally, adding more variation in the structure or rhythm of the poem could make it even more engaging. Experiment with different line lengths or rhyming patterns to add a dynamic flow to the poem. This could enhance the reader's experience and add an extra layer of enjoyment.

Lastly, you could consider expanding on the protagonist's connection with the tree, perhaps by exploring more memories or moments that solidify their bond. This would allow the reader to delve deeper into their relationship and further appreciate the significance of the tree in the protagonist's life.

Overall, your poem is already a wonderful piece, filled with emotion and meaning. With a few tweaks, it can become an even more powerful and resonating work of art. Keep up the amazing writing!
