Song of The Devil

Adam Roy Carrigan 1985 (Winnipeg, MB)

To persons unknown I say unto thee
The end of days are upon your creed
But tis' not the action you will see
As you are to perish in your dread
With fools' gold dripped in lead

I proclaim it is time for your cowards' death
There will be no one to save you now
You committed the greatest sin
By believing that ignorance was bliss
And by not enforcing the smallest crime

Oh humanity, why have so many rules?
When you can't even follow one?
It was so easy to lead you astray
I must thank you for your corrupted souls
And isn't it funny that I didn't even have to hide?

About this poem

This poem is written from the Devil's perspective. He is gloating, believing he has won and that the contract between him and humanity is leaning in his favour. Here's another one for Halloween!
