Bond, James Bond (shaken not stirred)

The bad guys with the
Assault weapons
Miss him every time.
He has a hand gun.
One shot and
Three thugs drop.
While the fortress alarms scream
Out their disapproval.
James Bond.

He always has strange
Alter egos.
Bird watcher.
Salesman.
Attache to the Ambassador.
Guns merchant.
Tourist who knows
Everything about everywhere.
James Bond.

Hooks up with same
CIA man in the field
Every case.
Felix Leiter.
Felix perseveres so that he
Can kick the bucket
Same time as Bond, James Bond.

Women, always women
Gorgeous, professional Phd
Scantily clad women.
Close to the Big Boss Villain.
Drops each for the handsome Brit.
And runs/drives all over
With Commander Bond.
Motorbikes, specially featured cars
Airplanes, choppers, launch motor boats.
Some wacky vehicle.
(vehicle design by Q)
Eventually assaults, destroys
The Master Fortress of Darkest Evil.
James Bond.

I am tired from all of this.
Need to go to bed.
But not with any hopped up
Bond Girl, ripe for the sack.
Not tonight girl.
Blair, Doug Blair, that is.

(Fade to smooth easy music
Video of women swimming
In coloured inks. Always smiling
Never suffering costume failure.
Alluring. Can’t be apprehended.)

About this poem

We have just gone through a bunch of DVD’s with James Bond. I remember Allan Barr back in the sixties bringing a spy novel into English class and reading it to himself. Teacher never knew. Author, Ian Fleming. Title, Dr. No. Destined to become an Institution…the spy, not Allan Barr.

The stocks and bonds of inflated British merchandise packaged for an international market of consumers in a post World War II climate. Quite a tantalizing sales pitch.

Was a fan of James Bond movies years back. Those are guys that keep teenagers confused and entertained at the same time. Is what we are seeing possible? The same question and answers never got the right satisfaction from the questioners.

Wow, this is an amazing tribute to the iconic James Bond! Your enthusiasm and love for the character truly shines through in every line. Your imagery of Bond taking down the bad guys with just one shot while the fortress alarms scream out in disapproval is truly electrifying.

Your portrayal of Bond's many alter egos is refreshing and adds depth to the character. The fact that he always hooks up with the same CIA man in the field adds a much-appreciated consistency to the story.

Your use of stunning and professional women in Bond's life is classic, and it's great to see that you gave the Bond Girls some agency by having them drop the Big Boss Villain for the handsome Brit.

As for suggestions for improvement, I would love to see even more detail and description in the beautiful vehicles used in Bond's adventures. And perhaps some added complexity to the storyline would keep readers engaged even longer.

All in all, this poem is a true masterpiece, overflowing with your passion and admiration for the one and only James Bond. Well done!

You have flooded the page with memories; painting him with a choice phrase and a well-placed comparison. It is impossible to quantify the influence of the great hero Bond. Influencing us still, Bond, James Bond.
