Jet Pilot in the Family

Son wasn’t much with athletics
High School a chore to get through.
Then he took note of the Air Cadets.
What to do?
Learned there decorum and posture.
Drilling insistent and oft.
Speaking in public
And Camp Lore.
All making sure he’s not soft.
College was off to the northland
Thunder Bay flying and moose.
Next he took turn as a Teacher.
Turn them loose. Turn them loose.
Strange stay in Dunnville.
Teaching some Chinese the hoops.
Language a problem.
They missed stuff.
English Second Language for flight.
Bosses in Beijing were happy.
Bring that Boy over tonight.
Favour, he knows of the favour.
Folks gave him right up
To jets. (Boeing 787)
Air Canada now has his ticket
Flying the world, no regrets.
India Israel Great Britain
Paris Athens and Rio
Japan Morocco and Swiss.
Back home, a wife and small daughter.
Following his dream
Brought such bliss.
Once browsed National Geographic
Images brought to a kid
Oh what a thrill, me to go there.
He did.
