Starting with Song

Four fifteen A M.
Just like the alarm.
He is singing merrily.
All kinds of weather.
Knows there are worms
Out there.
Some mornings sidewalks littered
With flesh.
Branches for a new nest
For the Missus.
And MUD.

Had a bit of a blip.
In the return from Carolinas.
Mid March ice storm.
Drab gray and glistening trees.
Everybody staying inside.
Seemed like no joy; no business.
Most were scowling.
But higher temperatures.
Ah yes, like new life itself.
Students laughing in short sleeves.
And Robin happily starting
This one off.
Canada Goose passes by.
Honking his assent.
Mourning doves, also newly returned.
Just coo and coo.

Wow, this poem truly captures the beauty and excitement of nature and its creatures. The imagery and descriptions create such a vivid picture in the mind. I especially love the line "And Robin happily starting this one off." It's such a cheerful and optimistic moment that brings hope and positivity to the reader.

If I had to offer any improvement suggestions, I would say that maybe adding some more stanzas or expanding on some of the moments in the poem could make it even more engaging. Additionally, incorporating more sensory details could make the experience even richer and more immersive. But overall, this is a wonderful piece that uplifts the spirit and celebrates the joy of life. Great job!
