Between worlds

Between worlds

Ever struggled to move on from someone that you want so badly but don't want to accept that reality
Picturing yourself in an alternative realm and asking yourself what's missing to alter the course cast upon me
I know I shouldn't blame myself that we aren't together as of today
Time heals all wounds so they say...

No

It just makes the heartache more tolerable but won't ever go away

You hope that the person you longing for finds happiness and she feels the same
Even though she calls someone else her lover and its not your name
Not much to do but stay occupied so the mind doesn't wander into loneliness
So the tears in my eyes wouldn't flow and leave me a complete mess.

You remind yourself of your worth and know what you can offer
Until the universe and stars align again for the next chance encounter
You try to give the next person in line a clear page of sunny forecast
And not hold onto the ghost of heartbreaks and open up scars from the past

Although my story is far from a happy ending and is still ongoing
Live in the moment and focus on the now while I'm barely breathing
A lifetime or forever to find that one person that'll take my breath away again
And should that day ever come...

Maybe they would actually be the one that will break the chain
And free me from a  life destined for loneliness.
