The Eternal Shore

Waves break as I awake on the misty shore of my mind
Memories old and secrets told are what the ocean leaves behind
As the sunset sky drifts slowly by, I rise to stare at the sea
And wonder if this place I'm in is the home of eternity

I stroll...

Ghost of the Guard

The ghost of the guard still haunts my mind
He warns and scorns then leaves me blind
The ghost of the guard will visit my dreams
And plug the void where creation streams

I once had a friend who helped me cope
He provided healing antidotes

The Boxer

Though I was a madman
I don't regret a thing
For madness is an asset
When I'm fighting in the ring

A boxer though they called me
A warrior or a king
What others had to say
Was not as flattering

Let's look back to the night
As the...

The Spirit of Creation

There comes a time when statements turn to phrases

Poetry comes in many forms when you finally understand

My Perception

Is not my perception art itself?
Can I be this bold to say?

My perception alone gives light to the world
And darkness too I suppose
But the two combined create the mind
That...

That was my first vote I got on this site! I wrote that about 15 minutes after one of my first few sparring bouts. I'm two years and change into boxing. In that particular sesh, I went up against someone who was not messing around, he got me really good a few times. I came really close to crying right there in the gym afterwards, it was really emotional. I found out afterwards how much I hold back my power when the moment really matters, it was then I grabbed my phone and typed this one up. Thanks for the feedback by the way, it really means a lot

Perhaps, at a different time, I would vote for another poem, a longer more arranged poem. But this one right now rings the most true in my heart, it echoes through the darker parts of it. I really love it.

Dude, that's exactly what happened! It seems to happen somewhat often. I've had many poems where this occurs. Also, thank you! A compliment from you is a compliment from a true poet.

Emily Dickinson and Khalil Gibran are two that come to mind. I just ordered Edgar Allen Poe complete works. I hear he's not bad either tehehe

It was between this and another poem. I voted for the other. This is a profound poem with notes of intrinsic insight.

It was worded very well. I had many pinned poems but this one resonated the deepest.

It is the closest to perfect out the bunch. The imagery carries me from beginning to end without a hiccup.

I like this poem because it has two points of view. Combining both point of views gives the reader everything he or she needs to know about balance.

The way this poem is worded, I am brought to realize that nothing brings absolute value to something.
