Raised in a small, remote town in California. Now, living out his later years in small-town Oregon. Russell considers it a good thing when a song, a poem, or some spoken testimony can still make you "verklempt". And vice-versa

2004? OK. I did the math. Very good writing, young lady. So much insight for a 17-18 year old. There are are several things so good about this. But, especially showing the way you (or whoever the 1st person is) viewed the world before and after whatever happened. Doesn't really matter who "you two" are (parents, betrayors, attackers), the point is made.
Keep up the good work

Man, that is really well done. "Spin the chamber, find the maid" is great. Is "a lover's moon" a triple entedre?

This one is really good. I like that your poems are succinct. "peace or ruckus"

I came from a place as far removed from yours as an american could. Small town, white, rural California.
I liked this piece very much. As I read this, I was mentally substituting my trinkets, shoes, clothes, and experiences with yours.
Mine were much less colorful. But, I can relate.

I liked this very much. I read through lots if poems on this site. So, I try not to pre-judge a poem..or to give up on it early on. Most of the faith-based or praise poems I have read are not very good. Not because they are religious, but they didn't "catch my ear".
This has a good flow to it and elicits feeling. At least for me.
Keep it up...

I liked this poem very much. I wonder how many people will think of Bohemian Rhapsody on "not very frightening"

Wow. Quality writing. My thought, about half way through, was "whether not he wraps this up successfully, it is lyrically praise-worthy". Looking at your pic, I kinda doubt you are the kind of hater your poem describes

So much is good about this piece. Yet, "aluminum arteries" is my biggest takeaway.
