    The Raven is brilliantly eerie.

Visited the Poe Museum in Richmond. Very sad atmosphere. A journalist dealing in daily soup, who so much wanted to display in literature the haunting or surprising turns in living. His sik abd declining wife in the next room.

Never forgot the one about the black house cat who got bricked up behind the makeshift wall hiding a corpse. Cops eventually heard the cat’s cries. Oops!
