My name is Steve..I am 57 years of age... In July 2010 I became paraplegic due to a very rare spinal cord malformation known as a AVM... Unfortunately this left me paralysed from the waist down and completely wheelchair dependent... I am very independent and care for myself... Since being in a wheelchair I have met the most Amazing people with some mind blowing stories... And my aim and goal in life is to inspire and help as many people as possible... My friends and family constantly tell me I should write my life story... Which I have started to do... I have never had any experience as a writer or poet... This sight is my only experience.. We are all Amazing in our own special ways ..really hope you like my poems ... Thankyou Sending love, peace and happiness to you all xxx

Don't hide away locked up in a shell,
When deep down inside you are going through hell.
Why suffer in silence all on your own,
Such a lonely world when you are alone.

Living in darkness, Living in fear,
Can I get through another lonely year?

A new way of life

I lie awake in my hospital bed.
Night after night a tear I shed.
My operation decides my fate.
Praying to God that its not to late.
Into recovery for an hour or two.
Waiting and not knowing what I had just been through.
Not often I'm scared...
