I am new to writing. I am a soon to be retired retail worker. I am a trans woman who started writing as therapy that has now turned into a passion.

Unseen and unknown
Kept from the world
In a box
In the dark
Out of sight

My memory is of a room
With a door
And four walls
A bed and a desk
It is a hideaway

There are 2 poems I have read in this contest that I can totally relate with. My own poem is one of those. This poem is the other. While situations are a bit different I still can relate to what it is like to have a parent with an addiction. I know the pain. I feel the hurt. The frustration. I know the sadness in all this. This poem comes from deep within the writers soul.
