I Hold Dominion

I am a woman
My mind, heart and soul
Stands firmly to this
They think, feel, exist
As a woman does
They can't be denied
Nor will I back down
To no one on this
I hold dominion
Over how I live
Define who I am
What it is I feel
None may rein me in
My life will be not
To your convenience
Suffer if you want
To conformity
Freedom shall belong
To those free spirits
Like my mind, heart and soul

About this poem

With the start of Pride Month I submit this poem declaring my pride in being a trans woman. There are those out there who try to define me and other trans women, and trans men too, as to who we are. But as the title of my poem suggests no one but myself holds dominion over who and what I am.
