Loved this! I liked the intensity of the feelings expressed and the very appropriate use of knife-related imagery. I could certainly relate to the sentiment expressed by this line: "if I heal will I lose my poetry". It often feels as though we get so used to our torment that we're scared of getting better for fear of losing what made us unique. I believe, though, that your art will survive just fine. Who knows? Maybe you'll turn into a more meditative kind poetry and others will be just as inspired by your work! Thanks for sharing, Kaytee!

I really enjoyed this poem. It has a pleasantly old-fashioned feeling, and, if your nickname is any indication, I can tell Dante's poetry has had an influence on yours. Well done, my friend, looking forward to reading more of your work!

Wonderfully, painfully introspective write. The burden of guilt is perfectly depicted through arresting images and intense language. A poem to learn from, for sure!

Thank you so much. It's unusual for me to write such a short piece but I'm glad you enjoyed it.

This great poem reminds me of what Seneca once said: "not all tempesta come to destroy you, some come to clear your path". I'm paraphrasing but I believe I'm close to the original wording. Well done!

I'm partial to winter but this poem, though melancholy, is as pleasant as a warm drink on a winter's night. Very well done.

An hypnotic stream of consciousness, filled with joy and wonder at the beauty of Autumn. Great work, keep it up!

Awesome! I had visions of multiple colors on a black background while jumping from one image to the next. Also, I really appreciated the apocalyptic tone of the whole piece.
