My lovely lily!

GIDRAF MWANGI 1992 (Murang'a)

Lain on the back lawn
Leaning on my elbow
Looking at the southern sky
Longing for my love
 
Dreams of the beautiful picnics
Dread me to turn to mourn
Day of the old sour
Done away with forever
 
Believe me, she left me
Begging me to ‘move on’
But doesn’t she know
Be no other but her!
 
Cars knock and die, and
Come to life with a chug!
Come on my lovely lily
Couldn’t we resurrect ours?
