I hoped

I hoped to live forever
And savour of life
Now I want to die
And leave its scourge

I hoped to achieve success
And gain recognition for it
Now I no longer hope
And just want to go

I hoped to marry a beauty
And have a merry brood
Now the thought, a dim silhouette
On the horizon of my solitude

I hoped to make real change
And make the world a better place
Now I no longer believe, or think
The world will ever be good

I live in a world that hates me
Unwanted and lonely
Nothing I do ever makes it better
It’s like I am undead
