The foe beside you

GIDRAF MWANGI 1992 (Murang'a)

You smite him not
Yet he eats you most

You live and fare with him
Yet to know his intentions no whim

He is the dear one of you
Hating him a terrible hue

The meal, you share
Thus suspecting, rare

He laments while with you
Howling in flamboyance hitherto subdue

But will you abide with the devil
Belaying as buddy for you to marvel?

Beware of thine enemies
Be not you to give ‘em chance
