Number 5

No more swing of the bat or pound of the glove
Our birthplace lie silent, devoid of your love
Laughter and comfort , one voice left unheard
No lifting of spirits, no encouraging word
A place at the table, your dominant frame
Silence is present where your memories remain
Siblings once spoiled, gazing beaming with pride
An absence exists that no human can hide
A soul so unique, so pure, so sincere
The sting never weakens with each passing year
Your footprint a mark, left for all you had known
The stories unending as each of us grown
I cherish each moment, my hero, my friend
The comfort in knowing, you ill see in the end.
