Prison in Ink

Obsession in words, with paper and pen
Rest a forgotten old friend
Sunlight and darkness, though clearly reverse
The same when the day has no end

Restlessness fueled by creativities curse
Fixation expressed unrehearsed
A tireless effort,...

The New Day

With little regard
Not afraid to betray
The new day begins
While the last fades away

With the rise of the sun
And with opening eyes
The new day moves forward
While the last day it dies

As we check off the tasks
Of the new day ahead

A Poem Each Day

I'll find a way
A poem Each day
A poem each day I'll write

Dream Chaser

How long's too long to chase a dream
To chase a dream each day

You chase it every day
You chase it every second
And you chase it every way

You...

I enjoyed reading each of the 150 entries. You've all got a great deal to be proud of! I hope my entry The New Day is enjoyed, appreciated, and perhaps passed on to others beyond this site. We're fortunate to have this venue to fortify our abilities as writers and share our work with other aspiring poets.
Best wishes to all,
DC

I'm not attempting to re-enter a poem for the contest. I'm attempting to enter a poem I've written and shared to poetry.com, not intended to be entered into the contest, but later determined by me to be contest worthy. Basically the poems from my own collection on poetry.com.

When attempting to submit poems for the monthly contest, I'm prevented from submitting poems I've added to the page at an earlier date, receiving an error code suggesting that a poem of the same name already exists. Isn't it stated clearly that you can submit poems for the monthly contest already submitted to the page? Perhaps I'm missing something...

The final day of judging. All the best to the many entrants. Having created something with confidence in your ability to share it with the world is a victory in itself. Be proud.

Though I chose to read each submission, I can easily see others skimming through and not paying attention to each piece.
