The letter

I received your letter in the mail.
After reading it I began to wail.
For so long you inspired me.
Making me better than I ought to be.
But now you tell me I am not the one.
What happened? We had so much fun.

The tears burn my eyes, but feel like ice on my skin.
Oh why, oh why does this have to end?
I prayed to the Lord to make this work.
But in the end you're just a f'ing  jerk.
