The Butterfly

Just see how she flirts
with the flowers in the garden
so blithely she flies
from plant to plant
Such beauty! You may think
clad in such radiance
So pleasing to the eyes,
such a splendid sight

So you watch as she caresses
yet another petal
and then get to thinking,
“What a beautiful butterfly”
Completely rapt in the moment
you fail to recall yester's morn
when this now beautiful creature
was just an ugly worm.
