The Spices of Life
What are the spices of life
But a soft argument,
A friendly fight, a fuss at the wind,
A shrug of the shoulder,
A sigh at the sunshine,
A tear for the rain,
A moment apart?
In absence, the heart grows fonder
And joy built in that moment
When two are reunited,
The make up after the breakup,
The kisses after the pouting,
The hugs after the shrugging,
The happiness after the hurting.
What are the spices of life,
But those moments of imperfection
When the heart pauses beating
To follow the eye's stare,
To catch a glimpse of the wind
Moving across life's meadow?
