Silently Suffering

Deafening silence is overpowering
Suffering alone with out
One who was now is less
Life in abundance bountiful
Lost on the byways of broken dreams
Shattered avenues I walk these streets

Aimlessly wandering thru the dredged
Of what once was
Emptiness barron of life
Only the darkness is welcome
Shadows bring solace to my soul

A sentry alert to my presence
Passing by down in the gutters of yesterday's happiness and today's sorrow
Nothing matters slowly drawn
Shadow fires gather waiting to do
Deeds which we cannot fathom

Longing for the yesterday's of life to lifeless
Time waits for no one there is no holding
A life slowly ebbing towards the end
A shell now just a hindrance

Letting go the fires in the shadows come
Taking me evermore towards the destiny
That awaits in the darkened abyss
Of what once was

Leonard Castillo

I have a terminal illness, that has brought me to realize we are fragile as is Crystal. There was a book of poetry published many years ago; titled The Colors of Life. I had a poem published in it. I am very proud of those words that I hope give inspiration to others. This platform is needed to share and inspire others to use their words to help growth, and understanding be it good bad or indifferent. My time is short so I hope my words can inspire whom ever reads them to reach new heights of their Lives... L. more…
