No One is Home
Again, I hear upon my door it’s knocking.
Though faint, I still can recognize the sound.
This time, no chance that I will be unlocking.
Stand still, pretend that no one’s to be found.
The last time to this stranger opened door.
It brought me down to place so very deep.
Old lessons, in my pocket now I store.
Recovery, its path was very steep.
So when again, depression shows its face,
believing that my mind it will control,
will show him it’s not welcomed in my space.
For courage, I have gathered in my soul.
From door, it’ll soon retire and be gone,
for battle against sadness I have won.
