Wanna See You Fail

Robert T. Davenport 1979 (Newark, New Jersey)

Wanna See You Fail
By Robert T. Davenport

In the shadows they lurk, with envy in their eyes,
Those who revel in your struggles, who long to see you cry.
They smile with deceit, their hearts filled with disdain,
For they find pleasure in your pain, in your moments of strain.

They cheer for your missteps, your every downfall,
Their satisfaction grows as you stumble and fall.
They whisper behind your back, spreading rumors and lies,
Their words like daggers, piercing through your disguise.

They envy your success, your dreams that take flight,
But instead of support, they choose to ignite,
The flames of jealousy, burning deep within,
Their bitterness consuming, a never-ending sin.

But let me tell you this, with utmost certainty,
Their desire to see you fail is nothing but a fallacy.
For you are strong, resilient, with a spirit that won't break,
Their negativity can't touch you, it's a futile mistake.

So rise above their hatred, their toxic desires,
Let their words fuel your fire, ignite your inner fires.
For in the end, it's their own failure they will face,
While you soar to new heights, leaving them in disgrace.

Remember, their darkness can't dim your light,
You are destined for greatness, shining ever so bright.
So let them watch, let them seethe in their envy,
For their desire to see you fail is nothing but empty.
