To Talented For This Shit

To Talented For This Shit
By Robert T. Davenport

Oh, how talented we are, so blessed indeed,
To be stuck in this shit, where dreams recede,
With our gifts so grand, we're truly elite,
But what good is talent in this world of deceit?

We paint the skies, with colors so bright,
But who cares about art, when money's the fight?
Our brushstrokes ignored, our canvases unseen,
In this shallow society, talent's just a sheen.

We write with passion, our words like fire,
But who reads poetry, when there's gossip to admire?
Our verses go unnoticed, lost in the noise,
In this age of ignorance, talent's a ploy.

We play our music, with heart and soul,
But who listens to melodies, when noise takes its toll?
Our songs go unheard, drowned in the crowd,
In this cacophony of mediocrity, talent's not allowed.

We act with conviction, our performances grand,
But who watches theater, when reality's at hand?
Our characters forgotten, overshadowed by fame,
In this world of superficiality, talent's just a game.

So let us revel in our talent's delight,
In this world that belittles, with all its might,
For what good is talent, when it's not understood,
In this shitshow of a world, where talent's no good.
