Blues

Sorry, home crew.

i feel kind of misty eyed
A little sad and blue.

Like going somewhere dark
and loud to drown these disconcerting shadows

of a love i’ve all but lost my faith in
Where no matter what i try to say or do

i lose all but the cost in Truth…

Then fail, again
to even find a quiet place

To let the dying echoes,
fade into the wind

To have a few cold brews,
collect my thoughts

Listen to some Jimi Hendrix
“Machine Gun”

Steal a moment or two
to drift and dream awhile,

Before the last vision
i have tucked away

To weep and moan,

dream of returning to
know what its like being alone

With the time we once shared,
leaving my mind One last time…

before fading to nothing dust

As my tears explode
inside my fallen pride

Evaporate like clouds
on a sunny summer day

My hopes and fears,
mix and mingle with my tears

Like snowflakes
lost in a raging blizzard

During one cold
dark winters night, alone…

Chilling to the bone

Turn your heart to stone,
 Soul killer, storm.

Saying one last prayer
that you will be all right

Me, needing your love
to keep me warm,

while

Listening to the angels sing
the haunting refrain

in the fading whispers
of the last time

i heard you say …
the words

“i love you”
