Hate ‘n

Charles Fields II 1955 (Fort Bragg, NC)

You have a reputation
Personally i think it is overrated
Your peers seem to have pistol whipped you
So badly with their mouths
That makes you seem too afraid
To tell it like you feel it…
You seem afraid to use your true name
Unless you listen to the chatter
From people who don’t matter
Those who don’t care anything about you
Or the things you love
i am impressed with your fineness
But not so much with what material
You have chosen to express yourself
You’re cruel in how you try to possess
Have problems when you need to show
Deliver the love you suppress
If you could only say in a whisper
Sing freely from your heart
As opposed to shout
Indications are from people who really care
You have trouble letting your true feelings out
It’s never too late to show your love
Stop hate’n
