Afternoon Interlude

George Hay 1961 (Pittsburgh Pa)

Together they lay
bodies entangled, electric, infinite.
Through passions they speak,
mouths hungrily tasting,
devouring the words that become obstacles,
divergent to that which they seek.
Anxious hands, demure fingers,
unfamiliar, yet intimate,
trace intricate intentions on flushed skin.
Silken moisture eager,
rigid need impatient,
constant accomplices of shared desire.
Eyes open, and mirrored to their pleas,
they join, reflexively as one.
This steady, rhythmic, graduated covenant,
frantic in its shared intensity,
ultimately defines the pair, solidifying their souls
each collapsing into, upon the other
within it's mutual, frenzied climax.
