Lobgesang

Friedrich Kalbfuss 1903 (Braunschweig) – 1945 (Bad Schwalbach)

Die Berge knien am Uferrand,
geliebter Fluss, andächtig nieder.
Du schlingst dein heit'res Liebesband
um die Gemeinschaft frommer Brüder.

Kein Wesen bleibt vor Freude stumm.
Der Wälder Orgel voll Akkorden
braust festlich ein Präludium
wie es noch nie vernommen worden.

Des Grases Geige ist gestimmt.
Das Schilf lässt seine Flöten summen.
Sogar der schiefe Birnbaum nimmt
sein Cello vor und lässt es brummen

Den Takt zu diesem Gloria
die alten Kirchturmuhren ticken.
Der Wind bläst Mundharmonika
auf den Dächerrücken.

O, Liebesband! Zur Harmonie
verbinde jede Stimme fester!
Wie eine Sehnsuchtsmelodie
rauschst du, mein Fluss, durch dies Orchester.
