I Think I Need a Better Drug

I remember the days, when I was bent in all ways
And never had to consult with a rabbit.
I'd weave a cocoon in the heart of the womb
But that just turned into a habit.

I could fall asleep, with "Dear Lord please keep"
And He did; so I'm still here....
Looking at life through a mirror of strife
Where is that dagnabit rabbit!?

My own magic potions, quit working long ago
My well of emotions; is about to overflow
And for those who really don't know ...
It runs deep.

Alice never told me, who had already sold me
To this world's highest bidder
Way too cheap...
And where is that darn rabbit?

I want to find his 'rabbit hole'
And perhaps meet a caterpillar or two
But most of the rabbits are pulled out of hats...
I'm stuck in a 'Rabbit Zoo'

Maybe I just need a hug.
I'm  pretty sure I just need a hug...
While I'm waiting for a better drug.
I might still need a hug from you.

About this poem

I think we all fall into 'rabbit holes' every once in a while. Whether it's political or trying to deal with a personal issue; we are all vulnerable.

Had this in my top picks. I knew this one was yours. You're always in the hunt and that makes me nervous.
