Love Among Me

Move Among Me

Casting my gaze towards the sky
My broken heart tries to reason why
Instead of asking how
To respond to here and now
I fall to my knees and cry.

The best plans are all laid down
Fallen apart all over the ground
Everything I ever owned
Wiped out a life and a home
The life I imagined now is gone.

Move among me and see sadness
Gripping grief and utter madness
Happiness is fading fast
Smiling through just can’t last
Smoldering ashes of pure gladness.

I dare to defy this impending doom
My demise no one can assume
I am a fighter you see
Choosing to get up and be
Destined for joy in full bloom.
