Heart Of An Ocean

Heart Of An Ocean

The heart of an ocean never rests
Emotions casts themselves
Against shores I can’t contest
Washing my brokenness
Over waking footprints
Tasting of salty tears
That never seem to end
Erasing my fragile joy
As sandcastles of dreams
Crumble beneath the surf.

Love is colored in deep blue hues
Passionate and immense
The softest water and solid ice
Shaping to show its true nature
Power and tenderness
And still unable to keep
Someone beside me forever
My tides are no match
For a island who refuses
Liquid oceanic affections.

My ocean no longer waves over you
The Sun has left the scene
And melancholy takes over
As the rains replace the light
Darkness resides here
Where you graced my side
I leave behind your memory
Something no land or sea
Should embrace;
I am all that remains.
