PARALYZED

In a haze, she envisions her desired place,
Tangled by the weight of her past’s embrace,
She tries to shed burdens time and again,
Yet temporary fixes bring no lasting gain.

Fixated on talents, one by one,
She’s gifted, capable, but still undone,
Feeling flawed with each skill she’s found,
Endless circles, smiles fade, she’s back on the ground.

Where anxiety binds her, paralyzed to the bed,
Her brain freezes her body, she can’t decide,
She’s found multiple routes, but her heart turns away,
She’s a utilitarian, for happiness must guide, or it won’t stay.

This lack of control is not something new,
Left on a freeway, she’s lost and askew,
In pursuit of ultimate happiness she strives,
But empathy’s burden makes her prioritize others’ lives.

A sponge for pain, carrying the weight,
Her past and others’ sorrows, an unbearable freight,
No wonder she’s paralyzed, unable to move,
Trapped in a cycle she can’t easily remove.

One step forward, to break disorder’s chains,
But judgment and pity, the progress wanes,
It’s not her own voice she values, their cruel voices were her guiding light,
A cycle progressively  ensues, time for her voice to fight.

In the maze of emotions, she seeks her way,
To find inner strength, a clearer display,
Same old cycle, repeating its rhyme,
Till she finds her path, her rhythm in time.
