How Could You Know?
Nicole Westcarr 1971 (New York)
You never knew and no one could tell you,
Truly what adulthood means.
Once believed, now understood,
Unlimited freedom is but a myth.
Responsibilities for others supersedes the ones for yourself.
Security of every kind becomes a dream,
As what must be done now, must be done
And there is no place for future needs.
What’s to be done?
Consider your needs above those of others? Address the needs of others,
To the exclusion of your own?
There is no option.
You already know what Christian ‘Law’ requires. Nothing else will suffice
And so panic may begin to rise.
Prayer is the only way to survive.
In those moments thriving is implausible, Improbable!
Survival is what is key!
Continue in Hope that after the phase of survive, You will again be able to thrive.
In survival mode the days are enumerable
They can become dark.
Seeing the Source of Light and Life,
Can be difficult and exhausting.
Stay in Hope.
Find a Way.
Be intentional.
Do the things that bring you Joy,
Gives you Peace.
DO THEM OFTEN
No one could tell you.
No one truly understands.
God SEES.
God KNOWS
And
That
Is
ALL
That
Really
MATTERS
