The Crippling Weight of Stress

Stress, often left uncontrolled,
Pulls on my triggers,
Sucking me into a void of my own regrets.

Just as a vampire sucks blood,
Bleeding you dry,
My stress soaks up all my motivation,
Turning my mind into a dry, desolate pit of broken dreams.

Clearly the work of my demons,
Stress weighs down on me,
Almost like a heavy boulder on my shoulders,
Overwhelming my mind,
So I always feel lost.

How do I lift the boulder that is my stress?
How do I regain my mental stability?
How can I find peace, despite what I've lost?
How can I be me when all I do is weep?

With only one real friend,
Could I really be on the mend?
Or is it just pretend?
