My Rebirth

Like a phoenix I may burn down,
From the ashes it leaves,
A new fire is lit,
A new story to weave.

With each new chapter,
I learn and grow a great deal,
Yet with the fire of rebirth,
I am no longer frail.

I am still on my own,
But on my own no more,
Struggling with the chore that is life,
I refuse to crumble
Under the endless strife.

For I have been through much
And have survived
And I refuse to give up
On this race I'm given.

The fire in me burns bright,
And so does my soul
As I continue forward
On this journey I was chosen.

I have my faults and flaws,
And I make my fair share of mistakes
But despite these things
I keep going for my fate.

Some look at me and see
How much I have lost
And think that I am destined to be lost.

But the fire within me says
This is my destiny
And no,
You won't get me down,
Because I burn brighter
Than the flames around me.
