To my grandpa,
I miss you.
I wish I could
See you smile again.

I almost called you
This morning
To say "hi,"
But then remembered
Why I can't.

I'm sorry
That I couldn't
Physically be there
To say goodbye.

They say that
You only realize
What they did for you
When they're gone,
And it's true.

You helped me to find strength,
You taught me to keep smiling,
Even when I don't feel up to it,
And you showed me what it really means
To be strong.

I miss you,
And I hope that
You're at peace.

I'll always miss you,
But I know
That you're here with me
In spirit.
