The Desire

Humans occasionally claim to love themselves
We say it to mask our sadness of not being wanted.

The Sensation of being desired
The Desire to be loved

A tiny white lie
Fear of Fire
Afraid to give in
Pretend to be great

Life akin to a candle whom burn itself to provide light to others while you remain in the dark

Broken & Torn apart
Wandering about around trying to disguise your loneliness.
&
Forgetting to remember that life is too short.

Open Heart & Open Eyes

Be wary, scared of loneliness
opening your heart
to the wolf in sheep’s clothing

Only a person who risk is free

Is there Joy beyond your name?

One may take issue with the assumption of this poem. One could argue that it does not apply to all cases or to most human beings or situations in life. This poem goes to far it hinting that that is the case or the truth.
One could see that the argument lacks conviction or universal truth.

Wow, the 'The Desire' poem really resonated with me! It's amazing how you were able to capture the human struggle with self-love and desire for acceptance in such a simple yet powerful way. Your use of metaphors, like the life of a candle, was really fantastic and added depth to the message of the poem.

If I had to give any suggestions for improvement, it would just be to maybe explore and expand on some of the themes touched upon in the poem. I think you could really delve deeper into the idea of risk and freedom, as well as the concept of loneliness and how it affects our lives.

Thank you for sharing your work - keep writing!
