The Deception

Dreading in my own thoughts

Drowning in my own tears
feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin,
hearing a lovely melody emanating from the birds.

Perhaps it’s a sign from the Almighty.

Will I be free?

Am I doomed to live in misery forever?

Who is this Almighty?

why should the Almighty save me?

drowning in my own sorrow for so many years.

I’ve wondered the difference between a serpent and an angel

a face like an angel with an angelic voice

yet, move venomously.

oh! the uncertainty.

oh!  the deception.

I believe it is the Almighty and of course you are worth saving just as we all are although the lord works in ways that is hard for us to understand. Your words reflect your beautiful souls and shines even through the dim uncertainty.

Fine work. When a work combines education in this way, it's a poem with poem's qualities.

The poem puts one in uncertainty of what it is?

Love, Sadness, Deception (LSD). That’s a heavy potion; both angelic and venomous.
Your poetry is unintentionally quite revealing.

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

Why saved by the Almighty? He is gathering a family of thankful redeemed ones. The number to be assembled mercifully will be a precise number that He already knows. His ways seem inscrutable. We will only see away down the road His reasons. But they are perfect Sovereign ways. Explained only in the language of timeless Love. Read Isaiah chapter 55.

Lots of unknowns. Grasping for meaning. Certainly relatable

You create an atmosphere of opposites, of paradox, which is how life seems to present itself. You ask essential questions. Your poem is painful yet beautifully written. Thanks for sharing.
