A Trip “Home”, June.

Back from three days’
Travel to the Home Town.
Familiar roads.
Lush new fields
Redwing blackbirds..
Dairy cattle.
Seemingly we’re on auto pilot.
And delighted.

Through Stratford
And the swans in the Park.
Pilgrims to the Avon
Festival Theatre.
And this year’s feast
Including Richard III
And King Lear (Paul Gros).

Rest of Highway Seven
Seemed quick.
Then Western Ontario
University architecture
Welcoming in the North End.
Old London North
Of my past
And Hilary’s.

Ryerson Public School
Chaotic with Friday
Noon hour Kids.
Retail Downtown area
Showing some signs
Of refurbishing, renewal.
Needed to.
London Central Collegiate
Site of our first dates
In Grade Eleven.
A world and marriage
Ahead.

All remaining friends
Dispersed and gray
With Grandkids.

Great job on your poem, "A Trip 'Home', June"! Your vivid descriptions of familiar places and fond memories made me feel as though I was right there with you on your trip back home. I appreciate how you were able to capture the essence of London, Ontario, from the swans in the park to the university architecture. Your poem is a beautiful homage to your past and the memories you shared with your wife.

If I can suggest an improvement, it might be to add even more sensory details to enhance the reader's experience. Describe the smells in the air, the sounds of traffic, or the feel of the sun on your skin. These small additions can make your poem even more immersive and transport your readers even deeper into your world.

Overall, your poem was wonderfully written and gave a glimpse into your past and the beauty of your hometown. Keep up the great work and keep sharing your stories with the world!
