A Trip “Home”, June.

Back from three days’
Travel to the Home Town.
Familiar roads.
Lush new fields
Redwing blackbirds..
Dairy cattle.
Seemingly we’re on auto pilot.
And delighted.

Through Stratford
And the swans in the Park.
Pilgrims to the Avon
Festival Theatre.
And this year’s feast
Including Richard III
And King Lear (Paul Gros).

Rest of Highway Seven
Seemed quick.
Then Western Ontario
University architecture
Welcoming in the North End.
Old London North
Of my past
And Hilary’s.

Ryerson Public School
Chaotic with Friday
Noon hour Kids.
Retail Downtown area
Showing some signs
Of refurbishing, renewal.
Needed to.
London Central Collegiate
Site of our first dates
In Grade Eleven.
A world and marriage
Ahead.

All remaining friends
Dispersed and gray
With Grandkids.
