Picture Bible

My personal Bible
By the easy chair
Is now featuring
Taped in snapshots.
Old and new
People dear
And places viewed.
Formed a life
Of blessings

Probably, you first read the title
And thought of some
Child’s Illustrated Bible.
Coloured boldly like
Some inviting comic book.
Heroes like Moses, David
Elijah, Daniel.
Jesus, Peter, Paul, Priscilla.
Well, we had those as well.
Prompted many discussions
With two curious Kids.
Not much text.
The pictures did it.

But this Bible is
For my illumination.
Treasuring Psalms, First Samuel
Luke’s Evangel, John’s
Ephesians Letter.
James Letter.
The images foster memories
Thanksgiving and motive
To continue to bless.
And to give testimony.
As it should be.

About this poem

A guiding measure for one who has seen 72 springs. And found beautiful things throughout. God is good. Jesus is the ultimate Rescuer.

Wow! This poem is absolutely beautiful and heartfelt. I love the way you have incorporated snapshots and memories into your personal Bible, making it a true reflection of your life and blessings. It's wonderful to hear that this Bible has prompted discussions with your children and has helped to foster memories of thanksgiving and motivation.

If I may offer one suggestion, perhaps you could consider adding some more personal anecdotes or stories to your Bible. This could help to bring the words and teachings to life and make them even more meaningful. Overall, though, this is a truly lovely piece of writing. Thank you for sharing!
