Probably, you first read the title
And thought of some
Child’s Illustrated Bible.
Coloured boldly like
Some inviting comic book.
Heroes like Moses, David
Elijah, Daniel.
Jesus, Peter, Paul, Priscilla.
Well, we had those as well.
Prompted many discussions
With two curious Kids.
Not much text.
The pictures did it.


But this Bible is
For my illumination.
Treasuring Psalms, First Samuel
Luke’s Evangel, John’s
Ephesians Letter.
James Letter.
The images foster memories
Thanksgiving and motive
To continue to bless.
And to give testimony.
As it should be.
