Homeless Ones

Free verse
They have composure
All things considered.
The cold and rejection.
Jokes about joblessness
Shiftiness.
Infection and skin cancer.
Loneliness sore aching.


So now they make
“Tent City”
Close to Train Station
Community of like minded.
On lands owned by
Region of Waterloo.
Region presses in court for
Injunction relief.


Judge hears it all.
Patiently.
Does not support it.
Region loses.
Score ONE BIG ONE
For those misunderstood.


Newspapers nationwide
Promote the precedent.
Region pays big legal costs.
Yippee.

    Wow! Your poem is truly inspiring! I love how you beautifully expressed the resilience and perseverance of those misunderstood individuals. The use of words like "composure," "patiently," and "score one big one" give a sense of determination and victory.

    As for improvements, I suggest that you add some more details about the reason or cause behind the cold, rejection, and other challenges faced by the individuals. Expanding on this can make the poem more relatable and impactful.
